5 thousand students will run 2.4 KM in DU campus: Dr. Vikas Gupta

Run for Viksit Bharat will be organized by DU and VBA Club on 8th May

 


Delhi, May 02.
A “Run for Viksit Bharat” will be organized on 8th May under the collective aegis of University of Delhi and Vikas Bharat Ambassador Club. To decide the outline of the event and organize it successfully, a meeting was organized on Thursday under the chairmanship of DU Registrar Dr. Vikas Gupta. On this occasion, the Registrar told that this Run will be flagged off from gate number one of the University at 7 am. About 5 thousand students from different colleges will participate in the Run. This 2.4-kilometre-long Run will conclude at the sports complex of the university via Gate No. 4.
Dr. Vikas Gupta said that the objective of “Run for Viksit Bharat” is to bring awareness in the society to make Bharat a developed nation by 2047. He told that all the colleges have been invited to participate in this Run. In today’s meeting, nodal officers and sports teachers from various colleges including NCC and NSS officers participated and discussed the modalities of the event. The Registrar said that during the Run, arrangements will be made from drinking water to ambulance. He also called upon the students to participate enthusiastically in this Run. Dr. Vikas Gupta told that DU VC Prof. Yogesh Singh will be the chief guest in this event. During the meeting, Dean Student Welfare Prof. Pankaj Arora, Sports Director Dr. Anil Kumar Kalkal, Dean Culture Council Prof. Ravinder Kumar, NDMC Member Kuljeet Chahal, many officials and teachers were present.
