CEGR organizes 3rd Summit on Vision 2047 in Education


New Delhi. The Centre for Education Growth and Research (CEGR), a leading think tank in the field of education in the country, organised the summit in New Delhi on the theme ‘Third Summit on Vision 2047 in Education’. CEGR organises successful summits, conferences and webinars on various issues related to education, skill development and research on a regular basis across the country, including Delhi, and sends recommendations to various stakeholders. Speaking on Vision 2047 of Making India Developed at the summit, AICTE Chairman Professor T G Seetharam said, “India has the ecosystem and the quality as well as the number of engineering and management graduates and we are almost where we should be. However, it needs to make some efforts to redesign higher education with a student-centric approach, where flexibility, innovation and employability are part of the culture. “We are in this disruptive era where skilling, upskilling and reskilling is a constant professor and in fact we must prepare ourselves for life-long learning. Prof T G Seetharam also mentioned how 95 colleges in the country are offering courses in regional languages and spoke about the success of Hindi engineering course in a college in Noida. “Give the Indian student a choice of their language, see the pace of their overall development, including English skills,” he said. AICTE has made available translated textbooks for five streams in 13 languages and these are well written with QR codes for video lectures and other resources. Eminent educationists from across the country participated in the conference. Several academicians, including K K Aggarwal, Mentor CEGR and Chancellor of Shobhit University, Kunwar Shekhar Vijendra, Chairman of ASM Group of Institutes, Dr Sandeep Pachpande, also spoke on the occasion. Speaking on the occasion, Prof. G. D. Yadav, National President, CEGR said that education is the cornerstone of national progress. We firmly believe that it is only through better education that we will achieve the goal of a developed India. Undoubtedly, education will play an important role in this journey. By 2047, India will celebrate 100 years of independence. We must envision an education system that empowers all Indians, promotes inclusive growth and prepares us for the challenges and opportunities of the 21st century. Prof. Anil D. Sahasrabudhe, Chairman, NAAC, NBA & NETF said that education has an important contribution to make in developing a dynamic and empowered India by the year 2047. Today, there is a need for universal access to education. India should focus on accessible learning options, flexible options, digital platforms, local languages and run special programmes for marginalised communities. Professor KK Aggarwal, President of Mentor CEGR and South Asian University, said that the old trend in education has to be changed and the country is doing good work in this direction. There is a need to achieve 100 per cent gross enrolment ratio and literacy rate through special programmes. Ravish Roshan, Director, CEGR, said, “We have been taking such initiatives from time to time for the last 12 years to keep the education system of the country effective and quality. The responsibility of giving direction to the youth power of the country is on the educationists and we are bringing them on one platform. The role of educational institutions is to develop the individual, and it is only through the development of the individual that the nation is built. Speaking at the summit, Dr. Sandeep Pachpande, Chairman, ASM Group of Institutes, said that entrepreneurship in the country needs to be promoted further to give a developed shape to a dynamic and empowered India by the year 2047. Entrepreneurship is the cornerstone of any nation’s progress. We firmly believe that only on the basis of a better entrepreneurial environment can we achieve the goal of a developed India.
